Welcome to the first of what I hope will be many posts of a more personal and (believe it or not) more frivolous nature, exploring quite a few different interests. These may be posted under the category of Playful Knavery, mainly because I happened to say those two words together one day and I liked the way it sounded. But also because (as noted) these will not be too serious, and because I have been known to appreciate a bit of good-natured mischief.
I suppose I will touch on a bunch of different topics in these posts. A few of the main ones are:
- Mid-Century Cool; the design, pop culture, and dash of the mid 20th century
- Adventure; experiencing fun new things, either in real life or through media
- Graphic Design; much of it dealing with adventure and the mid century
- Variety Acts; all sorts, but especially cabaret-style acts
- Classic Style; clothes (and other things) that are well designed and well made
If you look closely you may see a connecting thread or two in there.
Bottom line: I’m interested in a lot of different things and it’s fun to share some of that with like-minded folks. Each of these types of posts, regardless of medium, will be a little surprise in terms of subject matter or topic, but I’m hoping that will be seen as a plus.
